The Lamb of God

Hi everyone I hope you are doing well today. I have a special topic to go over with you today. Let's begin by opening our Bible's and reading the following Bible Verses...

Matthew 26:17-20 "Now the first day of the feast of unleavened bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare
for thee to eat the passover? And he said, Go into the city to such a man, and say unto him, The Master saith, My time is at hand; I will keep the passover at thy house with my disciples. And the disciples did as Jesus had appointed them; and they made ready the passover. Now when the even was come, he sat down with the twelve."

Here we read that Jesus ate the passover with the disciples. This was his last supper before he was crucified.

What is the Passover?

In the Old Testament, in the book of Exodus, during the time when God's people were slaves in Egypt, God appointed Moses to deliver His people out of Egypt, out of Bondage. The last plague that God had pass over Egypt was the death of every first born. God commanded Israel to kill a lamb and cover their doorways with the lambs blood so that death would pass them by. This was God's Passover. This was the night that the Israelite's became free from slavery. God commanded Israel to keep the Passover and observe it generation after generation. (Exodus 12 and Exodus 13).

Many many years later Jesus, the Son of God, was born. He was known as the Lamb of God (John 1:29). Jesus' life lead up to the moment he would die on the cross for our sins. Jesus came together with his disciples to celebrate the Passover Supper (Passover Night), then that night he was arrested in which the following morning (Passover Day) Jesus was nailed to the cross where he was crucified for our sins. He became our sacrifice, On The Passover, The Lamb who shed his blood for us, On The Passover.

Jesus was crucified on the Passover which is on the 14th day of the month of Abib (Exodus 12:18 and Deuteronomy 16:1). This date translates to April 22, 2016.

Jesus was crucified on the Passover. The Passover is Biblical, and NO it is not a Jewish thing it is for Christians, for God's people. Jesus told us to remember the breaking of the bread and drinking of the wine on the Passover. It is right in front of our faces, in the Bible, how can any one deny this?
